Titan Troubleshooting

If you are having a problem running SPACE GASS using the Titan softlock system, check the following points:

Check that the Titan Server is Running

On the computer with the Titan server installed, run the Titan Administration tool via the Start button => All Programs => Titan Licence Manager => Administration tool and then check to see if there is a green tick above the "Start Titan" button near the bottom-right corner of the tool.

If there is a red cross, click the "Start Titan" button. If you then get a green tick the problem should be resolved.

If there is still a red cross, click the "Reports" tab at the top, click the "Copy server log" button, save the server log to a file and then email it to us at admin@spacegass.com together with a brief description of the problem you are having.

Check the Connection from the SPACE GASS Computer to the Titan Server

On the computer with SPACE GASS installed, open the Titan Client tool via the Start button => All Programs => SPACE GASS 14 => Tools => Titan Client and then check the settings in the "Titan Server Connection Settings" table.

If the table is empty or if you are not sure what the settings should be, click the "Search Network for Computers with Titan Servers" button to have the table updated automatically.

Test the settings using the "Test Selected Connection" button. If you have multiple servers listed in the table, test each of them. If you get a successful connection then the problem should be resolved.

If you have multiple servers listed in the table and the first one doesn't work, move one that works up into the first position so that it becomes the default connection.

Firewall Blocking the Titan Communications

If you have a network version of SPACE GASS, check that the firewalls on the computer with the Titan server installed and on the computer with SPACE GASS installed are not blocking network communications with the Titan server. If you are not sure, temporarily turn off the firewalls on both computers and see if the problem persists.

If turning off the firewalls resolves the problem, check that the port (usually 34123) listed in the "Titan Server Connection Settings" table (see item 2 above) is allowed through your firewall. If not, this can be rectified via the "Network" tab of the Titan Administration tool. For more information, refer to "Administration Network" in the Titan help system.

No Licences Available

If you have a network version and you get a message saying that there are currently no licences available, it means that all of the SPACE GASS licences on your network are currently being used by other people. You should wait until one of the other users has closed SPACE GASS and then try again.

No Licences Available for a Particular Module

If you have a network version and you get a message saying that all licences for a particular module are currently in use, it means that all copies of the particular module are currently being used by other people. You should wait until one of the other users has finished with the module and then try again.
